Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Valayathil LLC (“Valayathil,” “we,” “us”) collects across valayathil.com (this website) and the MealAnalyzer mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have. It's organized into two parts, since the two products collect very different amounts of data.

Part 1 — valayathil.com

This website is a static marketing site. It does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

• Information you send us directly. If you reach out via the contact form, email, or phone number on this site, we receive whatever you send us — typically your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message — and use it only to respond to you.
• Fonts. This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading a font makes a request to Google's servers, which will see the request's IP address and standard browser information the way any web request does. We don't control or receive that data ourselves — see Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles it.

Part 2 — MealAnalyzer

MealAnalyzer is an iOS and Android app that estimates the macros and calories in a meal from a photo. Because it works with an account, your camera, and an AI service, it collects more than the website does. This section describes what.

Information we collect

• Account information — the name, email address, and password (or sign-in credential, if you use Sign in with Apple or Google) you provide when you create an account.
• Meal photos — the photos you take or select for analysis. These are sent to a third-party AI vision service for processing (see below).
• Analysis results and history — the macro/calorie estimates MealAnalyzer produces, stored against your account so you can see your history over time.
• Camera and photo library access — MealAnalyzer requests permission to use your device's camera and/or photo library so you can capture or select a meal photo. We only access photos you actively choose to analyze.

How photos are processed

When you photograph a meal, the image is sent to a third-party AI vision service to identify the food items and estimate their macro and calorie content. That provider processes the image on our behalf under its own security and data-handling terms; we don't control infrastructure we don't own, so we encourage you to avoid including other people or sensitive documents in the frame of a meal photo.

How we use this information

• To operate the app — running analysis, showing your history, and keeping your account working across devices.
• To maintain and improve MealAnalyzer's accuracy and reliability.
• To communicate with you about your account or respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your meal photos or history with advertisers.

Data retention and your choices

We retain account information and meal history for as long as your account is active, so the app can show you your history. You can request access to, export of, or deletion of your account and its data at any time by emailing benoy@valayathil.com.

Children's privacy

MealAnalyzer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypting data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Where your data is processed

Valayathil LLC is based in the United States, and data collected through valayathil.com and MealAnalyzer is processed in the United States. If you're located elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website or MealAnalyzer changes. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do, and for material changes we'll make a reasonable effort to let MealAnalyzer account holders know in-app or by email.
